Kupuri House | Perfect Blend of Modern Design and Coastal Living

Kupuri is a vacation home in Punta Mita, Mexico, designed by Módica Ledezma and Central de Arquitectura. The house is strategically positioned to maximize views of the Pacific Ocean, utilizing a concrete base and wooden roof to enhance its structural clarity. The design features a concrete plinth that supports the wooden roof, with the structure occupying only half of the space due to the descending terrain and fill. The interior layout includes flexible, furniture-based dividers and a habitable basement, which accommodates two families with symmetrical bedroom placements. One set of bedrooms offers ocean views while the others overlook gardens.

The architectural design emphasizes cross ventilation and natural light to manage cooling in the beach environment. Two pools cater to different needs: one facing the gardens and another designed as a sundeck with ocean views. The house integrates with the surrounding landscape, featuring a guest apartment and a simple hipped roof with a north-facing skylight to ensure ample natural light. The construction system relies on a concrete base raised by columns, allowing for unobstructed views and a clear, open feel throughout the space.
