Learning the Iron Cross and 90 Degree Handstand Push Up

I divide my training into 4-8 week training blocks, followed by an active deload week. During those training blocks I choose 2 skills as my primary focus. Starting today, those two skills will be the Iron Cross and the 90 Degree Handstand Push-Up. This reel is to show you my starting point, not to demonstrate perfect form or to teach you technique. I am just learning it 😊

I’ve had a few messages asking if I’m still training Planche and I have to be honest, after a year of training it, I’ve gotten bored! So, I’m shifting my focus and putting Planche into maintenance mode. Meaning it’ll still be a part of my training but at a decreased intensity/frequency.

I chose the Iron Cross just because it’s a long-term skill that I can do on the rings 🤷🏽‍♀️. I don’t know if I’ll ever push it to the point where I can do it without a band but that’s fine, I’m simply enjoying the process of progressing it.

In 8 weeks, I’ll reassess my goals and update you.

Oh, and in case you’re wondering, my main flexibility goal right now is to be able to drop into the middle splits. I’d also like to be able to do the middle splits without a warm up.

What are your two main goals in your training right now?
