Zorn Palette Oil Painting Tutorial | Dog Portrait Painting Time Lapse Video by Sarah Halliday Art

In this art lesson I show you the 4 colours which make up the Zorn palette and show you how I set my palette out using the Zorn colours prior to beginning painting. As an art demonstration I paint this greyhound and discuss my process and techniques for doing so using the Zorn palette, giving you oil painting tips of how to improve your paintings. This art demo includes discussion on oil painting colour selection for shifting between warm and cool temperatures, how I lay my paint on the canvas, and also my process of painting in layers. Finally learn how to paint a dog by following along with the time lapse video from beginning to end.

Underpainting - raw sienna + wash of gamsol
titanium white, yellow ochre, ivory black, cadmium red - Windsor and Newton
