This includes seeing the painting as an abstract form (rather than literal form), understanding the direction of your light source in your reference artwork, and how to make your painting look more realistic when using a reference photo. The painting palette used in this painting is: raw umber, lamp black, indian red, cadmium red, indian yellow, prussian blue and titanium white. Painted on to 290gsm oil painting paper.
