My favorite Warp Stabilizer preset:

Today we’re talking about Warp Stabilizer and my favourite ways to get a stellar shot with no gear… Other than a camera….
Shot on a A7s
Edited in Premiere Pro CC

The latest updates on Warp Stabilizer in premiere Pro are incredible and work like a charm as long as you follow these simple rules…

1- Shoot a wide shot because post production will scale it in.
2 - try to be as smooth as possible with your shot
3 - Anything that crosses frame will mess up the stabilizer, try to have a clean shot
4- Less chatotic the better.
5- stick to one movement. Either side to side, or up and down, when you mix the two it gets all wonky.

ROUND 1

Heres the first and easiest. Let’s say you’re on a shoot without a tripod. NO PROBLEM Try to hold your camera as still as possible. Now let’s bring this into the edit. Here’s it before and here’s it after.

BOOM

ROUND 2

Now I wanted to push the software and see how far we could go, with limited resources. WE’re going to start with my favourite shot, the slow slide.

Essentially you’re going to fix the camera in a still position and slowly move your hips. See how I keep my arms at the same hight but just slide my lower body.

This gets a really nice shot.

ROUND 3

Now let’s try a Dolly in. Here’s how it works.

You want to slowly push in again, only moving one part of your body in this case, your legs. See how I just pivot my body slowly into warrior pose. It’s a yoga term…
