One Nation votes believed to be 'close' to the Greens in election results

Former Morrison Press Secretary Andrew Carswell believes the “advantage” is with the Labor party ahead of the upcoming election, as well as votes for One Nation and Clive Palmer will “get close” to the Greens.

“This thing has got a long way to play yet, three days of campaigning and marginal seats are the soft votes still at, you know, 20-25 per cent,” Mr Carswell told Sky News Australia.

“We’re going to see some interesting outcomes on Saturday night, driven by the One Nation preferences that are on the rise.

“This election will see … the number of One Nation votes plus Clive Palmer votes will be the equivalent, perhaps more, than the Green vote.

“With the preferences that are coming from One Nation this time, you could potentially scrape across the line for a win at 34, 35 on primary.”
