The EnGenius ECW220 is a wireless access point that features a 2x2 MIMO antenna, and connectivity for Wi-Fi 6, which is capable of delivering speeds of up to 1200Mbps over 5GHz. The UniFi Wi-Fi 6 LR is similar to the ECW220S in many ways; it has a power limit that goes as high as 10.1W, it connects via Wi-Fi 6 and has 2x2 MIMO, and it has a solid management interface. Like all the access points, the EnGenius ECW220 does not come with any routing features on its own, so you will have to use it with a wired router. The EnGenius Cloud has been a revelation, but you need to have an Internet connection in order to connect to and manage the access point.

The biggest draw of EnGenius is its cloud-management interface, which makes managing its access points easy from anywhere. Using the EnGenius Cloud App, businesses can easily set up networks and configure access points from anywhere. Configure access points by scanning the QR code using the EnGenius Cloud app, and manage, monitor, and troubleshoot unlimited devices from one visually-rich interface. The EnGenius Cloud managed solutions product family is designed to deliver high-level wireless installations that are easy to manage and monitor remotely across multiple locations.

Flexibility with deployment The versatile line of high-performance, managed, ceiling-mounted, and wall-mounted EnGenius Cloud Access Points is comprised of dual-band, high-capacity 4x4s as well as 2x2 versions for Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 5. EnGenius Clouds user-friendly configuration menu allows administrators to add and define SSIDs, with wireless configuration, security types, and Wi-Fi availability, on any network. Smart EnGenius Cloud uses predictive AI and access point data gathering to help administrators increase network performance and avoid potential issues.

EnGenius Cloud access points feature an embedded Layer 7 DPI engine for collecting application traffic information directly at the source, eliminating the need to add a separate L7 traffic unit and eliminating potential bottlenecks in speeds. Once devices are authenticated, access points set up a secure tunnel between devices and EnGenius using a unique certificate provided by the EnGenius Cloud to encrypt the transfers.

As mentioned, and it is apparent, it has WiFi 6, so you can connect a large variety of smart devices. Along with the ability to connect multiple EnGenius APMs to one network, it has the ability to extend WiFi signals into difficult-to-reach areas. There is, however, one downside, namely a lower range, particularly if you are going through walls. The downside could cause issues with wireless signals in several areas of my home in farthest points, and in the garage for some.

Today, I am going to look at the ECW220S, which is similar to the ECW230 that I reviewed earlier, just with a 2x2 antenna setup instead of 4x4. EnGenius has released its WiFi 6 2x2 access point, the ECW220S, which is identical to the ECW220 except for antennas.
