DivaCup vs. OrganiCup: reusable menstrual cup reviews and comparison. Wellness Coach perspective.

OrganiCup vs. Diva cup brand product review and my experiences with both products. Pros vs. Cons. 3 main comparison areas: usability, company mission / statement, and price.

I've been using reusable menstrual cups for 5 years now. I get a ton of private messages from friends and clients about them. I figured I'd just share with everyone how well (or not well) they work in a more public manner. I know there's still a lot of taboo for people to speak publicly about periods and mensuration but there's a lot of knowledge that can be passed on to have a healthier and happier periods (or as good as a period can be). This video does not cover birth control, but I think that is the best way to limit periods in general. Not everyone is able to take birth control or they may be trying to get pregnant, so this video is for people who have periods (or even younger girls who are about to get their periods and want to learn).

I’ll be reviewing the pros and cons I see for these two brands. I'd have to say that the Organicup is my favorite at the moment. There’s the newer Diva Cup 0 however, which I think would like and comparing it would make this comparison video more complete and the best apples-toapples comparison. However, I don’t believe in buying things/stuff/material I don’t plan to use or need since I already have a suitable alternative. I'm very happy with my Organicup mini and do not plan to change at the moment.

Comfort & Ease of Use:
Both work pretty well, but I like the thin bend-ability of the Organicup better. I learned by using the DivaCup 1 which was fine, but definitely not as comfortable as the Organicup in my experience.

Price:
$28 for Organicup mini (For teens or those who need a smaller size), size A (For those who haven’t given birth vaginally), and size B (For those who have given birth vaginally)
$39.99 for all Diva Cups 0, 1, 2 (similar set of sizes as the Organicup)
You can find both of these online and I've also seen the Diva Cup at many drugstores.

Company:
Both products talk about how they make a difference and positive impact; both talk about waste reduction.

--Organicup--
"OrganiCup is the award-winning menstrual cup that replaces pads and tampons. Easier, healthier, greener. Month after month."
On the Organicup website they mention 2 years of period products = 528 pads/tampons = 1 OrganiCup. I really like that the Organicup ships in plastic-free packaging, it's literally a thin cardboard box with the instructions printed directly on it! I appreciate the thought and design they put into the shipping of the product.

Described on the website with these notes:
No allergens
Wear for up to 12 hours
Certified vegan and cruelty-free
Not happy? Get a refund
Lasts years, no constant waste
Made of 100% soft medical-grade silicone
I really appreciate the DivaCup for being a big pioneer in this area, they were the first to really make the menstrual cup a known brand, similar to how Kleenex is known as the facial tissue company.
On their website they say "We’ve been revolutionizing the period game for millions since 2003.", which I truly believe they've revolutionized it.
"People who menstruate have been shunned and silenced for millennia, and it's about bloody time to talk about it. Pandora’s Box is a transformative documentary that looks at the issue of Period Poverty and Menstrual Equity on a global scale. Pandora's Box is a feature-length documentary film presented by Diva International, makers of the DivaCup. Produced and directed by a primarily female crew, it takes us on a global journey through India, Uganda, the UK, and North America to explore the cultural and social subjugation of people who menstruate. Pandora's Box asks us to lift the lid on menstruation and truly consider how eliminating period stigma can help create gender equality."
"Pandora's Box shares the stories of girls who miss school because they can't access the menstrual supplies they need, from Maasai villages to London, England -- revealing that period poverty is a truly global issue affecting millions every day. From formerly incarcerated women to those living in poverty, Pandora's Box elevates the voices of those who are often ignored or forgotten."
"Pandora’s Box follows heroes, innovators, activists and thought leaders as they tackle the stigma and silence around menstruation. The film reveals the growing momentum of a global movement to end period poverty, and the urgency for us all to play a part."
