Innovation and Impact – Celebrating 25 years at QCAT
This year, CSIRO’s Queensland Centre for Advanced Technologies (QCAT) celebrates 25 years of innovation in technology research and development.
Operations commenced at the QCAT site in Pullenvale in 1992, with the aim to expand and diversify the research and development activities undertaken by CSIRO in Queensland. Twenty-five years later, QCAT is Australia’s largest integrated research and development precinct for advanced technology industries.
This anniversary video provides a glimpse into the innovative work undertaken at the site, and the impact the research has on Australia’s minerals, energy resources and manufacturing industries – from robots and automation, to exporting Australia’s renewable energy.
QCAT is a collaboration between CSIRO, the Queensland State Government, Cooperative Research Centres and R&D industries.
