Diepkloof residents call for Eskom flat rate of R350
Residents of Diepkloof in Soweto have delivered their memorandum of demands at the local Eskom offices. They are demanding a flat rate electricity fee and calling for an immediate halt to the rollout of new prepaid meters. They say these meters are being installed without adequate community consultation, saying that the current electricity tariff is unaffordable.
