Water and Abandoned Metal Mines projects in North Pennines
A number of projects to tackle the water pollution caused by historical metal mining have already been completed in the North Pennines - and more are planned.
This important work is part of the Water and Abandoned Metal Mines (WAMM) programme, a partnership between the Environment Agency (EA) and the Coal Authority, funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the North East Local Enterprise Partnership.
