In the heart of Cairo, tucked behind the shadows of society’s blind spots, lies a place called Garbage City — a community of people who’ve turned the unwanted into a way of life. But what if we’ve been seeing it all wrong? What if it's a matter of Perception. . .

This short film follows my walk through the narrow alleys of Manshiyat Nasr, where garbage isn’t just waste — it’s survival, identity, and quiet resilience. At the center of it all stands a towering mural by artist eL Seed, whose calligraffiti masterpiece, Perception, only makes sense when you see it from the right angle. Just like the city itself.

This is a story about dignity, art, and the hidden beauty in what we too easily discard.
