Editing Details:

Even though the 2017 Power Rangers film underperformed at the box office, we wanted to explore the idea of what if a sequel had actually been made. This trailer was conceived as a continuation of that grounded, character-driven approach, focusing on higher stakes, deeper mythology, and the consequences of the Rangers’ first battle. From an editorial standpoint, the goal was to respect the tone of the original film while elevating the scale, making the sequel feel more confident, darker, and more cinematic.

The edit was heavily inspired by the upcoming Power Rangers television series announced for Disney Plus, particularly its promise of a modern reinvention of the franchise. We leaned into sharper pacing, heavier sound design, and dramatic score builds to bridge the gap between blockbuster film language and serialized storytelling. Visual continuity, color grading, and rhythmic cutting were carefully chosen to make the trailer feel like a natural evolution of the 2017 universe—one that honors its ambition while reimagining what the franchise could have become on screen.
