The ocean is huge, and sharks only wander certain areas where there’s food like fishing grounds. Else they won’t come close to the surface. Some places where orcas are present, sharks will avoid.
Most of the time, planes happen to crash in areas where there are no sharks. If they do, the initial impact would scare sharks and other animals away. They will only return after a few days.
If people survive, they will be on life rafts so won’t attract sharks. If they’re dead, well dead men won’t be able to tell us if they got attacked by sharks or not.
Fuel spill also fend off sharks as well as hydraulic fluid and brake fluid etc
