तो इस बात की शुरुआत होती है …..29 December 1972 से …….Eastern airline की flight 401 ,163 यात्रियों और 13 crue members के साथ …रात 9 बजकर 20 मिनट पर ...new york के John Kennedy international Airport से florida के Miami International Airport के लिये उडान भरती है …..……..इस समय विमान को उडा रहे थे …….55 वर्षीय फ्लाइट कैप्टेन Bob loft ,जो कि एक बेहतरीन पायलट थे …….और इन्हें 29,700 Flight hours का अनुभव था ……..वंही इनके को पायलट के तौर पर 39 साल के stockstill …...मौजूद थे……….जिन्हें कुल 5800 Flight hours का experience था…….साथ ही Flight engineer की भूमिका ,51 साल के don repo (डाँन रैपो) मौजूद थे जिन्हें 15,700 Flight hours का अनुभव था ………
