2005 Tour de France - Pyrenees Ax-3 Domaines Stage 14, Totschnig, Basso, Ullrich & Armstrong

More DV tapes of the Tour de France have now been edited to share here.
For a few years during our annual trips visiting Le Tour I filmed stages during 2004, 2005 and 2007 so there's still more footage to follow.

On Saturday 16th July 2005 we stood under the 1km to go flag as the riders crested the climb at Ax-3 Domaines, unfortunately my Canon MV700 camcorder had a glitch so the battle between Armstrong, Basso and a following Ullrich wasn't captured... but Jenny got two great photos to fill the gap👏

It was a boiling hot day for their first day in the Pyrenees and many of the riders suffered, Totschnig is probably the happiest 34 year old stage winner I've ever seen on a podium, it was late in his career and he put this win above his 7th place overall in 2004. Great to see how much it meant to him.

I did capture all the other top ten riders that day and have included the podium presentations afterwards.
