Scientific Name: Orycteropus afer
Range: most of sub-Saharan Africa
Habitat: anywhere with soft soil for digging, they prefer to live where termites nest
Size: 2 feet (61cm) tall at the shoulders; 90 to 180 pounds (approx. 40-80kg) in weight
Diet: termites, ants, insects and their larvae, aardvark melons
Threats: lions, hyenas, and leopards
Lifespan: up to 18 years
