How to Become a Buddhist - The Triple Gem Refuge and What it Means to be a Buddhist

So, how do you become a Buddhist? And what does becoming a "Buddhist" actually mean? When one is ready to become a Buddhist, they typically engage in a ceremony known as the "Triple Gem Refuge" where one puts their faith and determination behind the Buddha, the Dharma (teachings), and the Sangha (monastic community). This marks the change for an individual from just an observer of Buddhism, to one that truly wants to follow the path towards enlightenment.
