Elton John: Top 10 Songs

Don't like our picks? Okay, hot shot, you try whittling down the catalogue of one of the greatest artists of the 1970s. A guy who between the years of 1970 and 1976 released 10 albums, two of which are double (and a hell of a live album, which isn't included in that 10).

Not that Elton was alone in this endeavor, he had a fine lyricist in Bernie Taupin and a hot band comprised of Davey Johnstone, Dee Murray and Nigel Olsen plus a million other famous contributors and a master producer in Gus Dudgeon.

And then there were the 80s and 90s... which, album wise wasn't so hot, but there are a ton of great singles there, plus his creative renaissance in the 00s and 10s.

Narrowing it down to just a top 10 is a job for sadists and flagellates.

Tiny Dancer, Rocket Man, Your Song, Candle in the Wind (either version!), Honky Cat, Daniel, Levon, Crocodile Rock, Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting), I'm Still Standing, Border Song, Someone Saved My Life Tonight, Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me, Little Jeannie, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, I Want Love, Cold Heart... it just never ends.
