The Making of "The Very First Book" (Handmade Book)

This video shows the production process of our very first handmade book. It is entirely handmade at our workshop: the content creation, the silkscreen printing and the binding. We use waterbased ink and 100% cotton paper produced by the Portuguese paper maker Moinho (www.moinho.pt), using traditional and environmental sustainable processes.

The "Very First Book" is a tribute to books and the ancient art of bookmaking and it tells us about the mythical birth of the first book ever. We believe that drawing attention to the legendary essence of a book is the best way to pay it homage, because, ultimately, all books are legends. Their purpose is to create worlds, realities, lives that are beyond truths and lies and simply depend on the reader engaging with the stories they tell.

The "Very First Book" is a limited edition of 25 copies in Portuguese and 35 copies in English.
