There were 179 subjects involved who were divided into four groups. A low-intensity training group that exercises at 30% of max contraction, 2) another low-load group that did the same but with BFR and 50% occlusion pressure, a max-effort training group, and lastly, a control group that did not perform any exercise. Training was performed 3x a week for 6 weeks.
The max effort and BFR groups showed increased strength, with the greatest gain in the high-load group. But only BFR showed an increase in grip strength on the other arm!
