Scion TC / Toyota Celica Rear Wheel Hub and Bearing Replacement

In this video, we'll be replacing the rear wheel hub and bearings on a 2007 Scion TC. This hub/bearing design covers 2005 to 2010 TC's as well as 2000 to 2005 Toyota Celica's. What may be considered the most difficult step in the replacement is dislodging the hub from the rear suspension knuckle. I found the fastest and easiest way to remove the hub is by using a slide hammer puller. From my slide hammer kit, I bolted on the puller jaw onto the wheel lugs using lug nuts, then screwed on the slide hammer shaft onto the puller jaw. Using a series of fast pulls starting from the puller jaw to the stop point on the hammer shaft, the hub can be shocked loose from the knuckle. A rotary wire brush was then used to clean up the corrosion build up in the knuckle hole followed by a coating of anti seize to prevent future rust buildup.

If the brake rotor is stuck to the wheel hub, two 12 mm holes are provide in the rotor to allow 12 mm bolts to push / pry off the rotor from the hub.
