Hartford's Old East Side: Front Street (from State Street to Morgan Street)

This video is about the now lost Front Street, that was the heart of the old East Side of Hartford, Connecticut, a neighborhood that was once home to generations of immigrants but was torn down to make way for redevelopment in the mid-twentieth century. In this video you can revisit the area that was home to Wachtel’s Department Store, Heimovitch Brothers Furniture, Barney’s Office Furniture, Pippie’s Pizza, Star Hardware & Plumbing Supply, B. DePasquale & Sons, and more!
