Wonderful Moth Flight Technique
This amazing flying insect is known as the Hummingbird Hawk-moth, and it can be seen skillfully hovering over flowers by rapidly beating its wings back and forth when it collects nectar with its long tongue. The macroglossia stellatarum is very similar in flying behaviour to the Trochilidae avian species. This footage was filmed in Athy Co Kildare, Ireland.
