2020 BMW F900R – First look review from KNOX

BMW’s all new F900 R roadster will be a welcome sight for lots of BMW fans, with the outgoing F800R model having been in the range and largely similar for the past 10 years. Launched at EIMCA 2019, the 2020 BMW F900r is an all new machine with BMW classing the bike as a dynamic roadster, new chassis, new engine, new electronics.. a real ground up overhaul.

At first sight, our first look review of the F 900 R concludes that the bike seems incredible value for money in the current middleweight naked market. The F900r features a tried and tested package, 895cc parallel twin with 105ps, 92Nm of torque, Brembo brakes, beautiful TFT with connectivity, adjustable suspension and nice sticky BT023 tyres.
The Sport or SE edition, the most popular, adds a massive spec to the table with up and down quick-shifter, semi-automatic suspension, multiple rider modes and adaptive headlights! At £8,365 for the base model and £9,499ish for the SE edition, the BMW f 900 r is very competitive in the market when you consider KTM’s 790 and 890 Duke R, Yamaha’s MT09 and even Kawasaki’s Z900.

We also grabbed hold of Chris Northover who is one of the only people to have ridden the 2020 BMW F900R and it appears that he is also a massive fan of the bike, even though his skids and jumps didn’t make it into the final BMW commercial.
