Vintage Voice Component Modeling (VCM) - I have spent lots of time over the past few years analyzing vintage synthesizers and acoustic analog instruments, to try and find out what objectively gives them their "character" that many modern synthesizers don't have. I recorded hundreds of samples from classic VCO synths like the OBX, OBXA, Prophets, Yamaha CS80, MemoryMoog, Jupiter 4, Jupiter 8, and others... The common thread that I noticed between all of them is that there are "voice-by-voice offsets" to each voice in these polyphonic instruments. These offsets are a result of voice boards having discreet electrical components that are never perfectly matched. The small variance between electrical performance on a voice by voice basis causes small offsets to fine tuning, envelope speeds, and various other parameters. When you play a chord, you get all these small offsets that create natural phasing / detuning / temporal offsets, creating a more lush, organic sound. Modern synths are often "too perfect" with too much parity between tuning and other parameters, giving them a more sterile or harsh sound.

Vintage Voice Modeling with the Behringer Deepmind
By using the voice number and note number mod sources targeting a variety of destinations in the oscillator, filter, amp and envelope sections, you can achieve vintage, per voice offsets that give the Deepmind tons of organic, vintage character. The patches in this sound set leverage a variety of techniques I've developed over the past couple years, based on measurements of behaviors I took from various classic synths. In addition, many of the patches in this sound set started as classic synth replicas, but I have elevated them with additional dynamic performance characteristics, optimized them up and down the keybed with note number modulation, or added effects to round out the sound designs.

Info About this Demo, Arps, Drums
The demo show off about forty of the patches in the sound set. There are another 80 or so patches included that are not in this demo. For the demo, I played some patches with the Global Arpeggiator On to demonstrate them in the context of being played as an arp. Most patches are optimized first and foremost for standard playing, but you can easily turn on the Arp on any of them. The Deepmind features 32 built in arp presets... you can see in the demo which Arps I selected in global arp mode, if you want to directly replicate the patch and pattern. In addition, some patches were played with a TR-8S drum machine for backing track, so you can hear them in context with a drum track.
