Wood turning - Amazing holographic liner inside Cherry Goblet

In this wood turning project I turn a goblet made form Cherry and cut up some leftover Christmas wrapping paper and line the goblet cup with it. It had a holographic flake pattern on the back of the Christmas paper and I though this would make a great liner to jazz up the goblet. The wrapping paper was quite difficult to stick and I ended up using a clear varnish. It was also difficult to finish and the lacquer I initially used just flaked off the papers shiny surface. Surprisingly, some Hampshire sheen wax seemed to work best!
Let me know what you think in the comments - it's certainly a new one for me. I might try some holographic vinyl sheets which have an adhesive backing. I'll keep you posted!
