Lord of the Dance OG Troupe Stories #9: Denise Flynn

Join OG Troupe dancers Gillian Norris, James Devine, Michael Donnellan, and Denise Flynn as they discuss: Denise Flynn!

Denise was instrumental in helping to bring about Dance For Hope II, the OG Troupe charity reunion video. She's also helped organize past OG Troupe get-togethers, and was the first OG to publicly appear on camera via livestream after Team Lord's social media overhaul a year and a half ago. For those of you who were watching Dancelord TV last year, you got to see her tell a story that had hitherto never been shared: what the *original* auditions were like for Lord of the Dance in 1996, when Michael Flatley handpicked the greatest troupe of #IrishDance practitioners the world had ever seen.

Today, Denise is the Director of Sales & Irish Banquets at Barberstown Castle, just outside of Dublin; she is one of the foremost tourism and hospitality industry experts in Ireland. In 1996, however, she was a teenager who'd retired from competitive Irish dancing and was pursuing other interests when she got the call from Michael Flatley's nascent production: #LordOfTheDance.

The rest, as they say, is history.

And with next year being the 25th anniversary of Lord of the Dance, isn't it fun to celebrate this history?

Planet Ireland arises: 2021.
