The Castle Mine Part 2: Exploring the Extensive Lower Workings
This is Part 2 of 2 for our exploration of the extensive “Castle” Mine. In Part 1, we visited the upper workings and discovered an incredible steam-driven hoist above a deep winze. In this part, we explore the lower workings and find the bottom of that winze. We also discover a bridge, miner’s graffiti, gobbing, and a whole lot more.
