France: Desperate migrants target lorries amid Calais unrest

Desperate migrants continued to take advantage of weakened security around the Eurotunnel by trying to sneak onto trucks crossing the channel border in Calais, Wednesday.

The security situation is currently disrupted due to strikes caused by MyFerryLink employees, who are protesting the sale of two Eurostar ferries to Danish rivals DFDS. Strikers managed to break onto Eurostar tracks on Tuesday, setting tyres on fire and damaging the tracks. It is believed the sale of the ferries could lead to a loss of up to 120 jobs.
