398. Part 2 of 3 Fluid Art on Lazy Susans! 4 Paintings In Under 30 Minutes!

Apologies for the delay in releasing a video--a fun-filled week at the Fluid Art Boutique! THANK YOU to everyone who came--it was a smashing success and we owe it all to you! I filmed this video about 2.5 weeks ago and never had a chance to release it! This is part two of my 3-part series on painting on Lazy Susans with the same color palette but different techniques! Now that life has calmed down somewhat I hope to get back to 2 or 3 videos a week!

A fried of mine picked up 3 14" lazy Susan's from Ikea (thanks Ellis!) The first video was a straight pour/cloud pour. This time I'm doing the bloom technique, and I got a little carried away as I had extra paint and these fabulous MDF rounds from the Fluid Art Co.---so you guys get 4 pours in 1 video!!

Colors/Brands/Pouring Medium Recipe:

House Paint-base aka puddle for the substrate:

PPG Multi-Pro in Eggshell.

Pouring Medium aka PM Recipe—mix with all colors EXCEPT the cell activator:

Behr 8300 Untinted Deep Base Paint (Home Depot); Minwax Polyacrylic Gloss 2:1 ratio paint to varnish. Mix well.

Brands/Colors mixed:

This Little Piggy -- Sapphire and Parakeet
Golden Fluid Acrylics Dioxide Purple
Folk Art Aqua Flash

Golden and Da Vinci Fluid Acrylics-- I put about 2-2 1/2 ounces of the pouring medium into a 3 ounce cup, then squirt in color until I reach my desired shade. Mix well.

For tube paint, I added an ounce of paint (heaping tablespoon) to a 3 ounce cup, then added 2 ounces of pouring medium. If still thick then I'll add a teaspoon of varnish/water to thin. (I make a bottle of "Jo-Wa" by adding 1/3 JoSonja Gloss Varnish and the rest water, and keep it in a squeeze bottle and use as my "water.")

All pigments are 1/8th tsp. pre-disbursed with a small amount of JoSonja Varnish to wet it (stir really well), then add into a 3 oz. cup of Pouring Medium; stir well.

Cell Activator Color:

Australian Floetrol + Amsterdam Lamp Black and Amsterdam Titanium White. 3:1 ratio Floetrol to paint.
