Marcus Mepstead (Seed 11; FIE Rank 39) - the only British fencer to qualify for the Olympics - single-handedly carrying the hope of GB Fencing regaining it's funding...aaand it's gone.

Mohamed Hamza (Seed 22; FIE Rank 19) - somehow surprising everyone with the fact that a fencer - who is the son of a national coach; was junior world number one; trains at a DIV 1 NCAA Fencing University; previous Olympian - could possibly beat the second coming of British Fencing Kruse Christ - who has never ended the season in the top 16 and made like 2 senior top 8s in his entire career (even if one of them was at the WCH).

Congrats to Dan Kellner on finally attending the Olympics as a coach after Race dropped him right before Rio (bit of a sussy move if you ask me).
