Lusitania & Mauretania: Cunard's Revolutionary Liners

The Cunard Line's express ocean liners Lusitania and Mauretania were revolutionary ships. Powered by steam turbine engines, they were destined to be the fastest liners in the world for years to come. The popular Lusitania's life was cut short when she was torpedoed by a German U-boat, but Mauretania went on to complete a successful commercial and military career.
