In this video I show how I installed a GFCI receptacle outlet step by step on my front porch. I am not replacing a standard outlet with a GFCI, but instead replacing a GFCI outlet with another GFCI outlet. The old GFCI outlet was noting working and would not reset. I show how your safely replace the GFCI even if you are not good with electrical work. The key is to turn off the electrical to take it out of the equation. This is done by locating your breaker box, and turning off the breaker to the GFCI or even to the entire house.
