Bette Midler sings, "Wind Beneath My Wings" to Anna Greenberg as Dying Wish

Just days after the American Cancer Society celebrated its own 100th birthday, sadly we lost a birthday within our own ACS family. Tucson Community Relationship Manager, Anna Greenberg passed away at the young age of 28 after a courageous battle against this disease that takes too many, too soon.

We would like to take this opportunity to celebrate and honor Anna by re-posting this video with her family's permission.

Singer and actress Bette Midler provided Anna Greenberg with her dying wish, singing 'Wind Beneath My Wings' to her during a telephone conversation.

Her brother Aaron recorded the unexpected call from her idol, who she had briefly met at a film screening, on his mobile phone.

"You're such an angel. You're such a wonderful soul and I am so glad that I got the chance to meet you," Midler said during the eight-minute phone call.

Anna was first diagnosed in October 2011 after completing a half-marathon and noticing her right leg was bigger than her left. Doctors told her she had rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancerous tumor that occurs in the muscles attached to the bones.

Anna died three days after the video was filmed on May 28, 2013.
