Wood & Bottle Lamp - First Lathe Project
In this episode I'm creating a cool little lamp for my new desk that I built in the previous episode. It features the top portion of an upcycled wine bottle that was doomed for the trash, along with a solid cherry bottom cut on the lathe to mimic the bottom portion of the wine bottle. I also incorporated a rotary switch to finish it off with a clean look. To seal the wood, I through on a couple coats of clear gloss polyurethane.
This was my first every project for the lathe so my techniques may not seem professional but it's a perfect example of what you can accomplish if you're new to wood turning.
