Moral Story For Kids in English | The Fox And The Goat | Animal & Jungle Story

Gugu had made friends with a bear in the forest and the bear was advising Gugu that one should be careful before trusting anyone.

He narrated of a story that had happened on a hot sunny day when a fox was walking in a forest and felt extremely tired due to thirst.
It looked around everywhere for some water but did not manage to find any.
It kept walking further and stopped by a well which had very little water in it.
While the well was deep and the waterless, the fox desperately needed some water and so tried stooping down.
As it bent down to drink from the well, it fell inside and could not find a way to come out.
Around the same time, a thirsty goat also came to the well to drink some water.
But looking at the fox inside the water, it asked the fox as to what it was doing inside.
The cunning fox that it was, it soon made up a story that the water inside was very sweet and tempted the goat to come and drink of it too.
The goat also jumped into the water to taste the water.
Having been thirsty, the goat sure felt that the water was sweet but started wondering how to come out now that it has quenched its thirst.
It asked the fox if there was a way out and the fox suggested that if the goat were to bend a little, the fox would climb up on the goat and get out of the well and will help the goat to come out once the fox is outside the well.
The goat innocently believed the fox without suspecting its plan for even a minute.
Soon, it bent down while the fox made its way out of the well.
Once the fox was out of the well, it did not make an attempt to pull the goat out of the well thinking that it might fall inside again and instead walked away thanking the goat for its help.
The goat called out to the fox requesting it to help as promised but the fox walked away without even lending a ear to the goat's plea.
The fox, in turn, told the goat that the goat should have thought as to how the fox would be able to help it come out of the well considering the depth of the well.
The goat realized its foolishness and felt sad about the helpless position it had gotten itself into but nothing could be done. It had realized its mistake way too late.

On hearing this, Gugu realized that it is always important to understand the motives of people before going all out to help them at the cost of their own inconvenience.
