The story so far: The trio have been on the run from an angry mob. Along the way, Vira has become a weyrshofft-adopted Stuckmocky, and agreed to plafond - a lifelong spiritual bond. After Vira's game console was destroyed by Mirrin's father, Vira and Fahyrjeon started home to the Stuckmocky clan and Mirrin soon joined them, since his fate as a cowardly gladiator would be public humiliation and execution. Early next morning Vira took a swim in defiance of local custom and the river god Rizenwikk. Fahyrjeon told Vira she had the aura of Audra, which meant she was fulfilling her destiny. She was then caught thieving, but was rescued by Mirrin. After breakfast, Vira was enthralled by a strange presence in the river, but was hauled out of the water by Fahyrjeon. Out of her senses, she punched Fahyrjeon in the nose before being restrained, then had a sholitaan, or spiritual revelation, which awakened her guilty anguish over killing Stuckmocky while gaming.
