SR 35018 British India Line Flies Through Appleby With The Dalesman

On the 4th of August 2020, SR 35018 British India Line was in charge of the First Dalesman of the year. The tour was diesel hauled from York to Hellifield before she took over for the run to Carlisle and return.

We head to Appleby where Steam Engines would normally stop for water but that hasn't always been the case lately so I decided to head up North and see what a Steam Engine looks like going through without stopping. I, however, didn't take into account the StayCation Express which came in a few minutes before BIL arrived, meaning the platforms were busy with people riding the train and waiting for the return journey. That and some diesels came through before that, delaying them both by several minutes but I shoved that onto the end of the video!

The last shot of BIL is her working hard as she approaches Long Preston, near the end of her days, work before heading back to her shed in Carnforth Steamtown.
