AMAZING COCA COLA MANUFACTURING SECRETS

Coca cola has become a concurrent product in this channel, we only know that it contains large amounts of sugar and it is not good for health, but little do we know the production process, how this successful drink is made. That is why today we will talk about it.
Let’s begin.

To get to know its creation well, we need to take a trip to the factory in Atlanta, United States, home to this famous product. It may taste the same everywhere, but the original recipe remains a secret, but it is well known that the formula was created by chemist John Stith Pemberton in 1886 that included vanilla, sugar, lemon juice, and cola extract. If you want to know more, I recommend the video about the history of Coca Cola on my channel.

The name of this secret ingredient is Merchandise 100X as a marketing strategy. Besides, the company has said that the recipe has undergone changes over time, but something that does not change is the coca leaf extract prepared by Stepan Co. Although they do not argue anything about the content of a stimulant it is thought to exist within the final product, in a process monitored by the DEA. There are even rumors that there is the presence of alcohol and fermentation to carry it out, but the company denies this.

The first step in production is to mix the ingredients, sugar and purified water, of course, the secret syrup comes from the central plant and is diluted with water, this water is nano filtered to avoid any smell or taste from where it was obtained. In this way, the taste of coca cola will be the same anywhere in the world.

Sweetener is added which is normally sugar, but in the United States and in several countries it turns out to be corn syrup with high fructose content since it is contained in large quantities, the mixed liquid is pumped without gas to the production lines. The cans and containers receive a jet of ionizing air to be ultra clean, before being filled, the mixed liquid is gasified with carbon dioxide thanks to a high pressure carbonation machine, after filling the cans or containers, they must be Cooled to 5 degrees to prevent the dioxide from fizzing and escaping, they are also quickly sealed so that the gas does not escape.

About 2,200 cans are produced per minute in a factory. Moist air can also cause condensation in cold containers so they are bathed in the water at 34 degrees Celsius and air dried. However, despite being the same manufacturing process, there is an interesting myth. Many say that coca cola in a glass bottle tastes better than other presentations, can and plastic container, a study by the biochemist and founder of the Science by Design laboratory, Sara Risch, showed that the type of container influences the taste, in the case of plastic, which contains acetaldehyde, this compound adheres to the soft drink making the taste sweeter, in the cans, there is a polymer that absorbs the sugary taste of the soft drink and the glass is quite neutral making us try the original recipe without alterations and for that reason, it is thought that it tastes better.
