The Portrait of a Lady (1996) - 'The Kiss' (Ending) scene

There's a lot going on in this scene, and the complex subtext provides a fitting ending for a story about a woman boldly defying society's norms and expectations. The music is warm and beautiful, yet somehow manages to end with a question mark.
