This is an extended compilation of Valery Legasov's tape recordings extracted from various documentary films.

Improvements:

* New fragments added
* All audio sorted by recording order and divided into cassettes they came from, using this transcript as a guide: http://pseudology.org/razbory/Legasov/00.htm
* Audio fragments cleaned up, noise reduced, volume levels equalized, smooth transitions between fragments
* Distracting videos removed and replaced with relevant historical stills
* Improved the translation

NOTES:

* Fragments are from three different documentary movie sources, therefore the sound quality varies. Some of them have music, unfortunately that was the choice of the documentary producers and there is nothing I can do about it.

* Some fragments from Звезда Полынь are heavily edited, they removed the parts where he's coughing, stuttering, repeating words etc. that's why some parts sound clipped and erratic. I replaced those with the unedited versions from other movies where possible.

* I didn't know what I was doing when I released the original Legasov Tapes collections (https://youtu.be/926ShgBaWZ8 and https://youtu.be/NYTAcgRAdYE) I used a primitive online video editor to cut the pieces and put them together. I have learned video and audio editing since and produced a much better compilation adding the new fragments I found.

* One of the new fragments contain the "apotheosis" quote, which was quoted by international nuclear industry publications after Legasov passed away and his memoirs were published on mainstream media.

* I levelled up my command of Russian language and redid the translations in better quality.

* Legasov had addressed the tapes for delivery to his friend, Pravda correspondent Vladimir Gubarev right before he took his own life. Mr. Gubarev published an abridged version of them on Pravda posthumously and he has provided copies to documentary filmmakers in the past.

* There were a total of five tapes, four of them contained Chernobyl memoirs and the fifth was an interview with a journalist. This compilation features pieces from all four tapes of memoirs.
