After travelling the south of Norway and seeing the fjords, we almost didn't bother with travelling all the way above the Arctic circle to see Lofoten; Aren't we glad that we did make the trip! Although the mountains in the south are much higher, the rugged beauty of Lofoten still rewards the senses. The fishing villages such as Å, Nusfjord and Heningsvær (just to name a few) are full of history of the cod fishing industry and the brightly coloured Rorbruer fisherman's houses. Everywhere you go there's stunning scenery and interesting sights. We were also lucky enough to see the Northern Lights in all their splender at Laukvik but unfortunately, lacking a tripod, our photos were blurry. This video provides a snap shot of some of what you can expect when visiting Lofoten!
