Across the Top (of Australia) 2021 #roadtripideas #outback

In winter 2021 we escaped lock-downs in NSW and Victoria and traveled across the top of Australia through QLDs Gulf Country, through the Northern Territory and through WAs Kimberley region.

We thought we'd traveled a lot of rough dirt tracks (see our other youtube videos) but nothing prepared us for the Savannah Way and Gibb River Road.

But the rocky, corrugated tracks were worth it to explore stunning gorges, swim in crystal clear waterholes under thundering waterfalls. Not to forget paddle boarding down a river through the towering cliffs at Lawn Hill, exploring the amazing Bungle Bungles, swimming a cave river in the dark at Tunnel Creek, jet boating the Horizontal Waterfalls, lazing on Cable Beach, snorkeling with whale sharks and sea lions on the west coast.

The video is long (16 minutes) but then the trip was also long (more than 5 months), and there was a massive wealth of images and video to select from, so I think 16 minutes is pretty short for such an awesome adventure.
