What’s up guys, Jimmy here, and today we’ll be talking about the Sony h.ear on wireless noise canceling headphones. The longest name for a pair of headphones I’ve reviewed ever. If you’re interested in these headphones, I’ll have a link down below.
Let me be clear with you guys, I was never a fan of headphones in general, until I got to try a pair of these. Boy did these blow me away. Also, I’m grading these headphones from a consumer perspective not an Audiophile’s. Now let’s start.
It comes with a hard-shell case, a micro usb cable to charge it, and the headphones themselves. The headphones come in many different colors, I personally like the Black and the “Viridian blue” but that’s just me.
The hard-shell case it comes with is nice. Here’s a 3DS game box for comparison.
On the actual headphones, there are volume and media buttons on the right side, with a headphone jack, micro USB, power, and Noise canceling buttons on the left. It also has two mics situated on both sides.
The sound quality is great, I heard everything I ever wanted to hear. I’m not an audiophile by any means but the sound is sooooo fine. I know it’s probably not the best headphones on the planet but for its price it’s nice.
The noise canceling works well. It turned a loud university cafeteria into murmurs. I also had the chance to test it with a live piano performance in the background, while it didn’t kill the entirety of the sound, it killed most of it and drowned out the sound enough that even on mid-volume the piano could not even be heard.
This part is my own opinion. Design wise, this device is super sexy. Just look at how sleek and modern it looks. It could go with anything you’re rocking on the day to day. It even matches the Black iPhones well. People thought Beats looked attractive? These will do you one better. Yeah. I said it.
The head cushion on the top of the device feels plush, like a pillow, I’ve never felt any real pressure from it after prolonged use.
The headphones fit fine with a hat on just for those who want to look extra cool.
After long use I do feel pressure from the over ear cushions after a while, but it’s minuscule.
Battery life has been fantastic. I’d go an entire week or more before recharging it. If you want official numbers Sony states that it lasts 20 hours before it needs a recharge. I got at least 20 hours with the H.ear On Wireless being on Noise Cancelling mode AND Bluetooth.
My only real gripe with the headphones is that the materials feel a little more plastic-y than beats and it feels like I could get these scratched a little easier.
My overall impression is this, the Sony H.ear On Wireless Noise Canceling headphones are a beautiful pair of headphones that can produce great sound, noise canceling, and comfort. These headphones retail for $349 USD. It’s a tad pricey, but the Bose QC 35s are its lead competitor and matches that price as well. The sony will provide slightly better sound quality, with the bose providing marginally better noise cancelling. I think the price is fair.
For those on a budget, there is a non-noise canceling version of these headphones that only costs 199 USD which is much more bearable for money savvy consumers. I’ll have those linked down below.
So, guys, tell me what you think. Would you buy this? Why or why not? Like the video, comment, and don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already and I’ll see you guys in the next time!
