China will find another iron ore supplier 'when it suits them'

China currently “is not prepared” to stop imports of Australian iron ore but they are looking for another supplier, according to Asia correspondent Adrian Brown.

“China is not prepared to press the nuclear button and to stop imports of Australian iron ore, in the past though China has been prepared to cut off its nose to spite its face when it’s fallen out with a country but it can’t afford to do that at the moment,” he told Sky News.

Mr Brown said China is “dependent on Australian iron ore” and its high quality but are looking at mines in Brazil and Africa with large reserves.

“When it suits them, they will find another supplier.”
