Dripping resin caused by the resin curing at different times
This video shows what happens when one area cures quicker than another. For this project, I used an upside-down plastic container which was covered in plastic to pour the resin on to. The lip around the edge prevents the resin from flowing off the sides. The container dips in the centre, meaning the resin is thicker than the outer edges, meaning the resin cures much faster in the middle.
When transferring the resin to the plastic bowl for shaping, I found that the resin in the centre was almost cured, however, the resin at the sides was still sticky. So I had to make a decision do I continue with the shaping of the resin or do I leave it for a bit longer. I decided to proceed and left it to cure overnight.
The result was that the sticky resin ran down into the bottom of the bowl and created these lovely resin drips. So although this wasn't intentional, I really liked the end result.
