Catholic Sisters in Africa Respond to COVID-19 - ASEC Executive Director Reports

Executive Director Sr. Draru Mary Cecilia, LSMIG, explains how ASEC's programs enable Catholic sisters to provide quality social services across African communities. She says,

"The education of the sisters has proved so vital in supporting the societies in Africa to deal with the impact of COVID-19. ...the Catholic sisters who are alumnae of ASEC's programs have devised innovative ways to help their communities during this difficult time."

Here are just some of the ways sisters are addressing COVID-19:
🎙 Using local radio stations to disseminate information about COVID-19 and safety measures.
😷 Making liquid soaps, sanitizers and face masks from local materials.
🥦 Focusing on agriculture as a way to improve food security, especially in rural areas of Africa.
🙏 We request that you join hands with ASEC to support the sisters in Africa and keep the sisters in your prayers.
