The Beauty of the Dark Paintings

In a world where paintings such as the Mona Lisa, the Starry Night, or The Last Supper exists, paintings of which are praised for their optimism and beautiful compositions, it’s not very often we see the flip side of these artistic impressions - the dark paintings, paintings of which aren’t discussed or known very much at all, not just due to the disturbing feeling of which they invoke, but the darker story of which they tell. They are the unseen, the unspoken, the unloved, this is the beauty of the dark paintings.

I think this is definitely one of my better works yet between visuals/editing and the content, far from perfect though. I've been wanting to tackle a much darker/serious topic for a while. The last time I did that was with the 2020 election video, which didn't turn out to do very well with views, which I didn't think would be the case. I really enjoyed that one as well, definitely one of the better videos I made if not the best I had made until now.

I always knew that non-pop culture related videos wouldn't do as well of course, but damn, the election video reeally didn't do well haha, so I wouldn't expect this video to either but it was a good time making it, exploring a different topic and having a different editing style, allowing myself to have empty spaces of black instead of constantly having texture everywhere.

Also, this video has been in progress for a while, so for those of you who know me irl, no, this is not a reflection of my recent events lol. I've been feeling good.

Also, there's been a surge of subscribers/views recently with the Joji videos, like I could have sworn just a week ago I sitting at 160 subs or so and then suddenly my Joji videos starting to hit 1k views, crossed 200 subs and counting and stuff. Idk where all this is coming from, especially since it's been so long since Nectar has been released, but welcome! Hope you'll stick around, I have more yet to come. :)
