TAHQUAMENON FALLS: THE BEST WATERFALL IN MICHIGAN? | A MUST SEE in Michigan's Upper Peninsula

TAHQUAMENON FALLS: THE BEST WATERFALL IN MICHIGAN? That's a good question and today you can be the judge of that! Tahquamenon Falls is a MUST STOP for any Michigan Upper Peninsula road trip!

Tahquamenon Falls consists of an Upper and Lower falls that is along the Tahquamenon River. The Upper Falls is the LARGEST falls east of the Mississippi! How cool is that? The Upper Falls has a drop of 50 feet and is 200 feet wide. The best part, this waterfall has a max flow of 50,000 gallons of water per minute! This waterfall is massive and will definitely make you saw wow! The Lower Falls, are definitely less dramatic but beautiful all the same. Near the Lower Falls there is a row boat that you can be rowed to a small island, which is the perfect way to spend a hot and humid Michigan summer afternoon!

In addition to the falls, the Tahquamenon Falls State Park offers several hiking trails throughout the park, with the most popular being the 4-5 mile hike from the Lower to the Upper Falls. So don't be like us, get an early start and take FULL advantage of what this state park has to offer before you move on to your next destination!

Entrance is free for those who has the Michigan Recreation Passport (if you are a Michigan resident you can purchase this with tab renewal or at the park for $17). If you have an out of state license plate the cost for a day pass is $9 with a discount for motorcycles and Michigan license plates!
